Stirling Knit 'n' Natter - February 2026

Believe it or not, it's time to start planning our yarn festival trips!

All of the Scottish yarn festival dates for 2026 are now available and tickets are already on sale for the Woolly Good Gathering. If you're interested in coming with us to any of the festivals, please fill out the survey to help us pick dates and plan travel.

As in previous years, we'll probably arrange group trips to Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow (shown in bold in the list below) but do let me know if you fancy a visit to any of the others.

• 21 March: Scottish Wool Producers Showcase, Perth.
• 17-18 April: Woolly Good Gathering, Edinburgh.
• 29-30 May: Tangled, Galashiels.
• 12-13 September: Scottish Yarn Festival, Perth.
• 10-11 October: Glasgow School of Yarn, Glasgow.
• 28-29 November: East Neuk Knits, Fife.

I will be going to the Woolly Good Gathering on Saturday 18 April so if you'd like to come with me, you'll need a Saturday marketplace ticket (General admission with 11am entry is fine).

In-person venue reminder

We're now meeting regularly in Cronies Bar, in the Golden Lion Hotel on King Street. Cronies is in the front door, up the steps and turn left, sign-posted for the bar and restaurant. We don't have a booking so, if you're first there, we're just looking to grab a table or tables to fit 6-8 of us. The two tables immediately to the left as you go in the door (directly opposite the bar) are our preferred spot, if they're free.

Advance warning: there will be no in-person meetup on 2 March. We would have been due to meet in person but most of us will be away.

Online subscriptions

We switched to our new subscriptions for online meetups in March/April last year, which means that if you signed up for an annual subscription around that time, it will renew in the next couple of months. There is a link to manage your subscription in the monthly online meetup emails, which will let you check when it will renew and what payment method will be used.

Prices will stay the same as they were last year (£20 annually or £5 quarterly). We collected enough last year to cover the Zoom subscription with a little left over. I don't want money to be a barrier to anyone joining us, so the extra funds are used to provide gift subscriptions and subsidies for other events for anyone who needs them. As always, I'm happy to provide a detailed account of what is going on with the group funds, if wanted.

Our WhatsApp community

If you would like to join our (completely optional) WhatsApp community, you can do so via this link or by scanning the QR code below. You'll see an "Announcements" channel and a couple of groups within the community. Only I can post to "Announcements" so this will be where you can find important news without any chit-chat.
